Choosing a healthcare power of attorney to make medical decisions on your behalf in the event of a serious health condition, accident or emergency is an important step in planning ahead for your care.
Choose Your Person is a community education campaign sponsored by Mercy Care, Hospice of the Valley and Contexture to raise awareness of the benefits of making and documenting advance healthcare decisions.
Trained staff from Choose Your Person will be at UUCP to provide information and assistance on selecting a healthcare power of attorney and registering your advance healthcare directive with the Arizona Healthcare Directives Registry.

Mission Report: Our journey to the Futuristic Fundraiser: Sci-Fi Edition was an interstellar triumph! The coordination, execution, and the remarkable participation from both the crew and guests have made this event a beacon of hope and unity across the UUCP galaxy.

- Commander and Crew of the UUCP Starship: Your exceptional planning and unwavering dedication ensured a stellar experience. You turned a night of uncertain fate into a constellation of memories filled with joy, laughter and solidarity.
- Donors and Guests: The heart of the mission’s success lies in your generosity. Your contributions, whether through direct donations or auction purchases, fueled the engine of compassion and community support.
Mission Highlights:
- At the evening’s Live Auction close, an anonymous benefactor’s challenge match of $5,000 was met, and combined with all purchases, culminated in a grand total of $23,000+ raised. This will provide generous support to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix, enabling us to continue our mission of community service and support.

Make A Holiday Card, A Gift of Hope
Thousands of asylum seekers are held in three detention centers in Arizona. Immediately after service this Sunday, November 24, come to the patio to make holiday cards for people who are detained. All materials will be provided, as officials have rules about what can come into the detention centers. Your card will likely be the only gift from outside that the person receives this season, and will likely be displayed and shared among those inside.
