The next UUCP Book Discussion Group meeting will be in Room 11 at 9:00am on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The group will discuss Chapters Nine and Ten in The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Founders and and Defined America by Jeffrey Rosen. Chapter Nine is titled, “Tranquility.” Chapter Ten is titled, “ Cleanliness.”
Chapter Nine discusses the long correspondence Thomas Jefferson and John Adams conducted in later life about different philosophical teachings and how to achieve happiness, Chapter Eleven discusses John Quincy Adam’s commitment to these principles.
