UUCP’s service on Sunday, February 13 features virtuoso accordionist Tony Putrino. Tony’s ability to play just about anything on piano and accordion—not just polkas, but jazz, rock, tangos, ballads, reggae, and more—have made him a busy musician, not just on Phoenix’s biggest musical stages, but also on television and in theater. Your voice matters! We are challenged by AZ legislators who have proposed bills that derail public education: withholding funding, allowing loaded guns on campus, banning books, micromanaging teachers, and outing LGBTQ students to their parents. These bills can be stopped with enough public outcry. The Arizona Education Association has made speaking out on these issues
At our first meeting in February, we will have an interview with one of our group's young geologists who loves rocks: Jera Spring. She will be sharing her research on rock formations at and near the Marcus Landslide. We hope you love geology as much as we do!
