  • Arts & Crafts Time at UUCP Starting January 8

Jay Alagia used to lead an art studio time at UUCP. Val Wylie was asked to revive that, and she found that we can use the Johnson room every Wednesday from 1-4 pm

So if you are interested in creating art, knitting, doing a puzzle, quilting, or making a quiet handcraft, please email artsandcrafts@phoenixuu.org, just to let us know that you’re interested, by Tuesday, December 31. We hope to start meeting Wednesdays in 2025, probably starting January 8th. We will contact you directly and via Compass when plans are firm.

  • Santa Singalong with Igor

    Santa Singalong with Igor

Our own singing Santa Claus, Igor Glenn, will lead a Christmas Carol singalong for all ages this Sunday at noon. Igor will start on the patio, but like the Pied Piper, he may stroll around to welcome more people into the Christmas spirit.

  • We Went Christmas Caroling

    We Went Christmas Caroling

Last Saturday, 12 of our singers traveled around Phoenix to visit and sing to UUCP elders who rarely or never come to service in person. It was a wonderful reminder of our connection. If you know some of our elders, or want to meet them, you can view an album of photos!

  • Discuss “Keeping the Faith” by Brenda Wineapple

Come discuss with us Keeping the Faith: God, Democracy, and the Trial that Riveted a Nation, a book about the Scopes trial in 1925. On Dec.15  we will cover Chapter Two:  A Cross of Gold and the Man with the Hoe, and Chapter Three: Huxley, Nietzsche, Mencken.   What we have covered so far (Preface and Chapter One) has shown two major forces at work in the US from the mid-1800s to 1925,  as well as main elements of Clarence Darrow’s character.  The next meeting will be in Annex Room B at 9:00 AM on Sunday, December 15.

  • Poetry Walk on Fridays

Poetry Walk and Talk has restarted as of December 13. Join us at 9:00am each week on Friday and walk about a mile on paved streets around 16th street and Northern. We meet in the parking lot of St Stephen’s Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, 8141 N 16th St. Bring a poem to read at one of several stops along the way.
