The Civic Engagement group meets regularly to bring timely justice actions to each Sunday worship service. We pick important issues for letters, postcards, petitions, and phone calls. In addition, we network with other justice and faith groups in Phoenix and beyond.

Join Us for the HANDS OFF National Day of Action
Join other UUCP members from 10am – 12pm at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, Arizona State Capitol. We will meet at 10:00 am on the SE corner of Adams and 17th Avenue. Text your friends to meet up with us!
Also, we encourage you to boycott Walmart April 7-14. Our wallets are one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight for economic justice. By refusing to spend our hard-earned dollars at businesses that undermine economic justice, we send a clear message: We won’t fund our own oppression.

Healthcare Data Needed for 2026 Ballot Initiative
As you know, Medicaid, Medicare, ACA and other healthcare protections are under threat. Healthcare Rising AZ (HCR), in preparation for a ballot initiative that is planned for the 2026 election, is collecting information about your experiences with healthcare. To help them gather data, please fill out this survey and share this link with friends and family, especially those who are affected negatively by the quality of their healthcare, the cost of prescriptions, and/or the lack of mental health, dental and vision coverage. Donations to HCR are also needed to get this initiative on the ballot.

Effects of the So-Called “SAVE Act” in Congress
A bill called the “Save Act” has been introduced in the US Senate. If it passes, it will add many obstacles to voting. For example, a passport or birth certificate would be required to vote, many rural voters would be forced to travel hours to vote, and a person’s last name would be required to match the one on their birth certificate. Use this QR code to register your objection to this bill quickly and easily. A phone script is included.
