For the safety of everyone, we have made the difficult decision to put our in-person Coffee Hour, which has been meeting on the patio after the worship service, on hold for now. It has become too hot to meet comfortably outdoors, but we are not yet ready to gather unmasked inside.
- Maricopa County’s community level of transmission is MEDIUM. We have had about 10 COVID cases in our congregation members in the last 3 weeks.
- The temperatures are above 100 degrees and will likely stay so for the rest of the summer.
- Folks have been enjoying gathering as community.
- If we have food and drink, folks will inherently be taking off their masks.
As a result, we have decided to offer a COFFEE-LESS Hour. We will have round tables set up in the Johnson Room where people can gather. We hope to offer games or cards in the future. We will not be serving food or beverages. Folks can gather and chat (with the topics that the Worship Associates have continued to provide), but with MASKS ON.
We plan on doing this through the rest of June, July, and August. We will re-assess in September or when the COVID levels go down again.
We understand that some people may not wish stay for this time if it means that they must be masked, and we look forward to the time when we can all gather safely once again.
Virtual Coffee Hour will continue to be held on Zoom immediately following the service.
