The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix strives to be a spiritual community for our time, focused on diverse theological perspectives, radical inclusion, and knowing that issues of justice and equity shape everything we do.
With a special awareness for those who have been historically marginalized, we welcome all, of every race, class, ethnicity, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, mental and physical ability and disability. We welcome your whole self, your family into our worship as we build a community of caring, courage, and hope.
We are passionate about anti-racism, anti-oppression, equality, and justice work. Social justice is not just a component of our ministry; it is embedded into every part of us. We strive for a multicultural anti-oppression presence in every aspect of what we do, including worship, outreach, and even committee work.
The Art Resource Center was our January Share the Plate recipient. It is an organization that accepts donations of many items, and then gives them away to artists and teachers. Donations are requested for some items of more value. Earth Justice will be accepting donations of items they accept, and taking them to the center.
Our group will be gathering immediately following the Mid-Year Meeting. Join us as we explore anxieties, cares, and concerns about the state of the world in a safe place.
Rev. Christine's sabbatical begins March 1. The Sabbatical Team has prepared an FAQ page, the schedule of guest preachers, and a form to volunteer to provide hospitality to our guests.
On March 2, our guest preacher during Rev. Christine's sabbatical will be Pastor Deontez Wimbley of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church in Phoenix, AZ.
From March 16 to March 30, our guest preacher will be CB Beal. CB facilitates learning experiences to create safer, braver spaces within which people can learn and grow.
