Come discuss with us Wineapple’s presentation of the Scopes “Monkey” Trial in 1925. It is stimulating in the aspects that still influence thought in the US. We see the characters and the beliefs of the two attorneys: Williams Jennings Bryan and Clarence Darrow. The author also presents aspects of the town where the trial took place and of the spectators at the trial. She raises the question of whether similar issues could still be alive today.
