We are excited to share an update on the much-anticipated Memorial Garden renovation project—a revitalization effort that will enhance both the beauty and functionality of this cherished space and reflect the values we hold dear as a community.
Here are some key highlights and assurances regarding the project’s scope:
- Pathway Stability:
The stone pathway will be stabilized for long-lasting use by packing it with 15 tons of Espresso Brown stabilized stone and 80 tons of Madison Gold stone. - Lighting Compliance:
A new lighting system will be installed in accordance with Paradise Valley regulations to avoid upward light pollution, with special attention given to the memorial circle and statues. - Irrigation Improvements:
The existing, outdated irrigation system will be completely replaced—including a new backflow system—with additional updates near the front stairway. - Landscape Enhancements:
We will enhance the front garden entry with 25 five-gallon plants and cacti, along with decorative boulders to add natural beauty and dimension. - Defined Borders:
The project includes installing 300 linear feet of concrete edging to create a neat and lasting pathway border. - Durable Infrastructure:
Removable bollards and essential equipment will be installed to ensure the space remains both protected and functional.
This project is being funded by the UU Foundation of Phoenix through compiled collections over the years from our beloved members and friends, as per their requests made upon their passing.
