UUCP Childrens Ministry Navigators

Our Navigators chapter is a multigenerational alternative to mainstream scouting that brings our values and the 8 UU principles into the outdoors

The bedrock of our UUCP Navigators group is to strive for a more inclusive, multigenerational, non-oppressive space, for our youth. We strive to create an environment that fosters safer spaces for creating memories and experiences with the flora and fauna that live around us. We view our stories and experience through a lens of diversity and attempt to lift each other up as we travel down this path together.

  • Camping with UUs Memorial Day Weekend!

A group of UU kids on a Navigators Hike out on the trail.

Come witness the majestic wonders of nature at SAWUURA, our camp property near Young, AZ this Memorial Day weekend. As the heat returns to the greater Phoenix Valley we all enjoy a brief reprieve from the triple digit weather. This is your invitation to do that in the company of your beloved UU community!

This beautiful higher elevation habitat is home to numerous species you will not find in the Phoenix desert. As soon as you enter the camp and are surrounded by the towering trees, you will remember why we fight so hard as UU’s to protect our environment!  You will hear the songs of migratory birds flying through the Pacific flyway. You will hear leaves crunching under the feet of horned lizards and other unique reptile species! You will thank yourself for this intentional time in nature!

The property provides water, latrines, a group campfire and kitchen area, plus lots of areas for tent camping.

Join us any time Friday afternoon through Monday, and be sure to register first at www.sawuura.org for information.
