Recently, the new presidential administration has stated that they will not honor houses of worship or schools as sanctuary locations. In response, Rev. Christine sent an email to the staff and board stating that we will not be cooperating with any effort to arrest, detain or deport anyone with any migrant status, however unlikely that is for UUCP.

Also, UUCP Member Ceyshe Napa has been in local and national news stating that the largest school district in Phoenix will also not participate in any of these actions. Ceyshe, who is Phoenix Union High School District governing board president said “We have a huge responsibility to over 20,000 students, many of whom are of color, migrant and refugee families. Our students need to be on our campuses free of fear, regardless of the political climate that we find ourselves in.”

Our resistance will take all of us and will take many different forms. We are ready to support Ceyshe in her dedication, with gratitude.
