On Sunday April 13, international touring musician, songwriter, and UU lay preacher Joe Jencks continues to weave together spoken word and music to explore The Good We Hope For. Within our liberal religious traditions, there is a tacit invitation to be in the world as peacemakers, clear communicators, and as bridge builders. One could define this as the very heart of diplomacy. How then are we encouraged by our faith to walk into the world ready to meet people where they are, rather than expecting them to join us where we are? What is radical hospitality? How do we let The Good We Hope For become a practice in our daily lives? The role of diplomat, bridge-builder, and ambassador of good-will is not just the work of trained professionals. It is an opportunity available to us all, and some would argue, a tacit invitation of our Unitarian Universalist traditions.
